Mobile Devices Included with GRX is the ability to create HTML pages. Any data can be placed on these pages and the pages will automatically refresh when viewed using a browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox. Viewing from another PC on a network is simple - all that is required is that the HTML pages are placed in a shared folder. Mobile devices (Netbooks, phones etc.) do not always have a simple method of accessing files on a network. Providing that the device has a browser, the solution is just to configure the host PC as a web server. See the links section for some software for web servers. Besides the obvious use with mobile phones, the technique has also been tested with a netbook running Linux. |
